This Phillyrea latifolia was collected in 4/2005. It was the first serious material, so it beared all our mistakes during the learning process. It was styled for the first time on I. bonsai convention in Croatia with Walter Pall in 2007.

It was in March 2008.,after transplanting into bonsai pot, when problems started. Tree stagnated, and almost all leaves dropped off until summer 2009 . Obviously, something was seriously wrong. We removed it from the pot and found that draining holes were clogged due to bad substrate. We transplanted it into well draining substrate, an placed into small improvised greenhouse. Few months later tree recovered.

Two years of stagnation have left consequences: some branches died off.
Since tree regained it’s strength, we decided to work on it now. Our friend Aleksa from Montenegro is our guest this week, so he helped us to work on trees.

Some work on deadwood was done too. We are not content with the position of tree in the pot so we’ll consider some new angle.

We also worked on this Olea europea which was collected on 2007.

Bruno also visited us. We came to conclusion that this olive will nicely fit in one of Mateus Grobenly’s pot that we have.
