On Noelanders Trophy 2011 Ryan Neil (USA) has demonstration on two trees, Mugo pine and Juniperus phoenicea. Both trees were excellent material for demo. Walter Pall was moderator; he helped making show more dynamic by asking many questions to Ryan, about his life in Japan, apprenticeship at master Kimura, horticultural and aesthetic aspects of bonsai. One thing we liked a lot; while talking about shaping the tree Ryan pointed: “You don’t show your work, but your tree”.

Which temperatures are ideal for these tree? i live in Honduras (central america) and it’s a tropical country… can I have one?
Both species are from Europe. Pinus mugo is from high mountains, and Juniperus phoenicia is mediterranean plant, probably too hot for both species. Maybe J. phoenicia could adapt.
